SAFETY

Uncompromised Safety Credentials
Kia’s commitment to continuous improvements in the safety and security of our vehicles can be seen throughout the development of all our vehicles.

At the crash test laboratories of Kia Motors’ Namyang Research and Development Centre, we undertake rigorous testing for a wide range of motor accident scenarios. From the early phase of development we create computer simulations to predict a vehicle’s safety and up to 100 crash tests of the vehicles are performed prior to launch.

Safety Technologies
Air Bag Technology
Six airbags as standard ensure driver and passengers are protected a in the event of an accident.
Braking Technologies
Our Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Emergency Stop Signalling(ESS) assist you in emergency situations. AEB is amongst the brand new safety feature currently available on the All-New Sportage improving safety by identifying critical situations early and alerting the driver and secondly AED lowers the severity of crashes by lowering the speed of collision Dashboard low tire pressure indicator Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) 75% of tyre problems come from low pressured tyres. TPMS checks the air pressure inside the tyres and warns you if the pressure drops below the recommended level. Kia Cee'd taking a sharp corner at speed Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) System VSM is a safety feature in cars that looks out for dangers and controls the vehicle as you’re driving. Driving stability is improved by accurately analysing driving conditions through sensors. Kia Sorento scanners detecting lane edges Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) When tiredness sets in, this intelligent assistant helps you stay in lane on the road. The instrument cluster alerts you when you begin to move out of the lane unintentionally. SPAS finds available parking spaces and works automatically Smart Parking Assist System (SPAS) Using ultrasonic sensors, SPAS finds available parking spaces and works automatically upon slowly pressing the accelerator.
